Comanche Academy staff sets up tipi

On February 22, Comanche Academy staff stayed after school to put up a tipi in their schoolyard. It was a learning and bonding experience for the employees. While a couple of them put up a tipi before, this was a learning experience for the rest of them. The tipi will stay up in their schoolyard for a few days before staff will take it down.

The next day, Comanche Academy students held their morning routine in front of the tipi. Students recited the Pledge of Alligence and Lord’s Prayer in Comanche, followed by a round dance around the tipi.

Many teachers were so excited about the tipi that they took their students for class inside the tipi. Pre-K students shared the excitement, exclaiming, “This is awesome!” and “This is the best day of my life!” while they walked clockwise into the tipi.
