Comanche Academy is incredibly proud of our very own Daphne Tanequodle who was elected as the 2026 Kid Secretary of State for Oklahoma!

The Kid Governor program is sponsored by the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) which was created to empower 5th Graders to change the world. This program immerses students in a real election within the school and around the state. 1,187 students from across Oklahoma participated in the program this year!

Daphne was voted as a finalist by a panel of former Oklahoma governors with her platform addressing homelessness. She created a campaign video and it was shared with 5th Grade classrooms across Oklahoma, where students casted their vote - leading to Daphne being voted as the 2026 Kid Secretary of State!

We are extremely proud of Daphne for her leadership, hard work, and passion for representing Comanche Academy and now, the state of Oklahoma.
